Sling bullet, Protohistoric Collection

Presentation

Lead sling bullets were used by the Roman army throughout Antiquity. Propelled at high speed, they could seriously injure or even kill. The slingers were called into action with the archers and javelin throwers before any close combat. The discovery of these objects testifies to the fighting that would have taken place on the very site of I Palazzi.
