A JOURNEY THROUGH CORSICA WITH REGINA AND BRUNO

World-famous for recording the hit song “Solenzara”, and sometimes mocked for the lightness of their lyrics, Regina and Bruno were above all two exceptionally talented musicians. The guitar playing and highly refined vocal harmonies of Bruno Bacara (Olivieri, his real name) provided the perfect setting for the extraordinary voice of Regina (Pierette Melicucci), always serving the understanding of the lyrics. In an authentic musical approach, as “retro” as it is contemporary, this performance pays tribute to this legendary duo of Corsican song, brought to life by three musicians with eclectic tastes and musical backgrounds. Marie-Elsa Picciocchi and Marc’Antò Belgodere, both from the world of opera, have expanded their repertoire from polyphonic singing to contemporary music. They are joined on keyboards by Jacky Le Menn, whose powerful and melodic playing evokes the productions of the 1960s and 1970s.
Great classics and forgotten gems, sung in Corsican or French, come back to life through a musical performance infused with surf, psychedelic rock, country-western, Latin, and folk influences. By turns playful, melancholic, and radiant, these songs allow audiences to rediscover the richness of the repertoire of the most famous couple in Corsican song.
